Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz won a maiden Monte Carlo Masters title on Sunday. The Spanish star recovered from losing the first set to beat Lorenzo Musetti 3-6 6-1 6-0. The prestigious event in the south of France is the first major clay-court event of the season
Alcaraz has struggled with his form this year and his victory in Monte Carlo will be a welcome boost ahead of the French Open next month. The Spaniard will be defending his crown at Roland Garros which will also see the return of World No.1 Jannik Sinner.
The 21-year-old will now move Alexander Zverev to number two in the world rankings.
