British No.1 Jack Draper claimed the biggest win of his career on the weekend by winning the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. The 22-year-old beat Karen Khachanov in a tense final 6-4 7-5 in the Austrian capital.
Draper was playing his second competition since reaching the US Open semi-finals in September. His victory means he becomes the fourth British player to triumph at the competition – following in the footsteps of Time Henman, Greg Rusedski & Andy Murray.
He is planning to play at the Paris Masters this week and has vowed to set his sights on challenging the top players in the sport. After losing to World No.1 Jannik Sinner at the US Open, Draper will take confidence from his success in Vienna. Now elevated to no.15 in the world rankings, the young Brit will be setting sights on breaking into the top ten in 2025.
