British No.1 Jack Draper stormed into the Quarter Final of the US Open on Monday beating Tomas Machac in straight sets 6-3 6-1 6-2.
The 22-year-old has suffered from injuries in the early part of his career and he revealed he even contemplated retiring from the sport. However, he gained some momentum this year and improved his fitness catapulting him into his first Grand Slam Quarter Final.
Draper will now face Australian 10th seed Alex de Minaur for a place in the semi-final at Flushing Meadows. With defending champion Novak Djokovic & Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz already knocked out of the tournament, the Brit has emerged as a real contender for the title.
