World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz beats Jiri Lehecka in three sets in the final of the Queen’s Championships in West London. The young Spaniard was pushed hard by his Czech opponent but came through to win the match 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-2.
The victory was Alcaraz’s 21st career title and he has now won 27 of his 28 matches since April. He will now seek to do the ‘grass double’ as he looks to defend his Wimbledon title which starts on 30th June.
If Alcaraz can lift the trophy at the All England Club in a couple of weeks it will be his third successive Wimbledon crown.
