World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz suffered a shock defeat in the third round of the Miami Open to Sebastian Korda. The Spaniard looked sloppy during the first set and was eventually beaten by World No.36 Korda 6-3 5-7 6-4.
Wimbledon Champion Jannik Sinner booked his place in the last 16 with a dominant victory over Corentin Moutet 6-1 6-4. Sinner only needed 71 minutes to beat his French opponent. In doing so he surpassed Novak Djokovic’s 10-year record for the most consecutive set won at ATP 1000 events. The Italian notched up his 25th & 26th straight sets in the match which took him clear of the previous record held by Djokovic (24).
Sinner is aiming to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’ in Maimi after claiming the Indian Wells title earlier this month.
