The victory brings the Wimbledon Champion level with Roger Federer with 6 ATP titles. Djokovic will also be happy to claim the biggest ever prize money in tennis – $4,740,300! The huge pay-check was awarded after the 21-time Grand Slam completed the tournament unbeaten.
Winning the season ending finale will give Djokovic great momentum heading into 2023. The first Grand Slam of the year starts in Australia in January and he will be a hot favourite to win the Melbourne major. Djokovic is aiming to draw level with Rafael Nadal in the all-time Grand Slam title race who is currently leading the way with 22 slams.
The ATP Finals brings to a close to another fantastic year in the tennis calendar. Three of the four Grand Slams were snapped up by two of the usual suspects in Rafael Nadal & Novak Djokovic with the final major won by teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz.
