यूके: 020 3904 5599US Open Champion Emma Raducanu secured her maiden WTA Tour victory on Tuesday after staging a gutsy comeback against Polona Hercog in the first round of the Transylvania Open. The British teenager displayed glimpses of her grit and determination which catapulted her into a global superstar in New York last month. She was leading 4-1 before surrendering the opening set to her Slovenian opponent. Raducanu then came firing back in the second and dominated the deciding set to emerge victorious 4-6 7-5 6-1.
Perhaps the biggest cheer of the evening came in the post-match interview when Raducanu delighted the locals by speaking in the local language. Her father is from Romania and she was gave a small address in Romanian much to the appreciation to those in attendance.
