British No.1 Jack Draper was denied a first ATP clay-court title after losing the Madrid Open Final against Casper Ruud.
Draper battled back from losing the first set but eventually lost in three set 7-5 3-6 6-4 in the Spanish capital. Despite the defeat Draper is now ranked a career high No.5 in the world rankings. The 23-year-old has been in great form this year which cumulated with his Indian Wells crows in March.
He had not gone beyond the quarter finals at a tour-level tournament event on clay before Madrid. It is good preparation ahead of the फ्रेंच ओपन which starts at the end of the month.
