UK: 020 3904 5599The Miami Open is a 12-day tournament which attracts the world’s best men & woman tennis players. The event spent 32 years at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne but in 2019 moved to the Hard Rock Stadium – home of the Miami Dolphins.
The tournament started last week and the heavy hitters are progressing well in the Florida heat. Daniil Medvedev is on course for recapturing the World No 1 spot if he reaches the semi finals. The Russian beat two-time Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray on Saturday and reached the last 16 with a straight set victory over Spain’s Pedro Martinez 6-3 6-4.
British Number One Cameron Norrie is also progressing well and is the only Brit left in the draw. He will play Casper Rudd of Norway in the last 16.
In the woman’s draw four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka is performing well on her favoured hard court surface. She beat Alison Riske 6-3 6-4 to reach the quarter finals and will play fellow American Danielle Collins for a place in the last four.
US Open Champion Emma Raducanu suffered more frustration on the court as she was beaten in the second round by Katerina Sinaiakova. The British number one will be hoping for an improvement as she enters the clay-court season.
