The US Open reaches the quarter final stage in New York. The final Grand Slam of 2025 will reach its climax this weekend as the world’s best players battle it out for one of the most prestigious titles in tennis.
Defending Men’s Champion Jannik Sinner has been in ominous form throughout the tournament. The Wimbledon Champion needed only one hour and 21 minutes to dispatch Alexander Bublik 6-1 6-1 6-1 in the previous round. The Italian World No.1 will be a strong favourite to retain his crown at Flushing Meadows.
Veteran Novak Djokovic continued his bid for a record extending 25 Grand Slam title after demolishing Jan-Lennard Struff to reach the last eight. The 38-year-old did need medical attention twice during the match but still won the contest 6-3 6-3 6-2.
World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz won his last-32 match against Frenchman Arthur Rinderkneck 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 6-4. The 22-year-old is still yet to drop a set at this year’s tournament and will face Czech Jiri Lehecka for a place in the semi-finals.
Defending woman’s champion Aryna Sabalenka continued her fine form beating Cristina Bucsa 6-1 6-1 to secure her quarter finals spot. Iga Swiatek & Naomi Osaka will be amongst the other strong contenders to challenge at the weekend for glory.
