2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios has announced he is going to make his return to tennis at the World Tennis League event in Abu Dhabi in December.
Kyrgios reached number 13 in the world rankings but the 29-year-old has only played one ATP Tour singles match in two years.
He has been working as a commentator during his absence from the court. However, it now seems he is looking to return to competitive tennis with one eye on the Australian Open in January.
Australian Open chief Craig Tiley has already welcomed Kyrgios’ planned comeback and confirmed he would be in the main draw via a wildcard or protected ranking. This would mean he would avoid having to play in the qualifying rounds.
