The second Grand Slam of the year has started in Paris. The French Open will take place on the clay courts at Roland Garros for the next two weeks.
Defending Men’s Champion Carlos Alcaraz will be hoping to defend his crown after his impressive display at the Rome Open earlier this month. The young Spaniard moved up to No.2 in the world after his victory in the Italian capital. The 2024 Wimbledon Champion is aiming to be the first man to retain the French Open since his compatriot Rafael Nadal in 2020.
World No.1 Jannik Sinner will be looking to add to his Australian Open Grand Slam title he captured in January. The Italian recently returned from a three-month doping ban but was able to retain his place at the top of the world rankings in his absence. He will be among the favourites in Paris.
In the woman’s draw Iga Swiatek will be seeking to continue her dominance on the clay of Roland Garros. The Polish world No.5 has won the title three times in a row since 2022.
World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka is also expected to mount a serious challenge in Pairs. The three-time Grand Slam Champion has been in good form this season having already collected titles in Miami & Madrid.
