World No.2 Jannik Sinner beat Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to claim his first Indian Wells title on Sunday. The Wimbledon Champion produced a polished display to dispatch Medvedev 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-4) in the Californian heat.
Sinner has had a somewhat quiet start to the 2026 season, based on his very high standards. However, the Italian produced an array of excellent hard-court tennis at Indian Wells and won the title without dropping a set in the tournament.
The tour will now head to another ATP 1000 event at the Miami Open in Florida. Sinner will be aiming to claim the ‘Sunshine Double’ at the iconic Hard Rock stadium.
World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka will be hoping to achieve the same feat in the woman’s draw. She finally secured her first Indian Wells title beating Elena Rybakina in the final.
