Jannik Sinner beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets in the final of the Paris Masters 6-4 7-6 (7-4). The victory also catapulted him above Carlos Alcaraz to the top of the world rankings.
After Alcaraz was knocked out by Briton’s Cameron Norrie the door was fully open for Sinner to regain the World No.1 slot. The Italian now holds a 26-match winning streak on indoor courts, which stretches back to the 2023 Davies Cup Finals.
The race for the year-end world number one ranking will now be decided at the final tournament of the season at the ATP Finals. It is perhaps a fitting end to an incredible year which has seen the rivalry between Sinner & Alcaraz reach stratospheric heights.
Wimbledon Champion Sinner will have more points to defend at the ATP Final in Turin after winning the competition last year. However, his current form will give him great confidence that he can finish 2025 as World No.1.
