The tennis world is gearing up for the final Grand Slam of the year in New York. The US Open begins next weekend on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.
Defending champions Jannik Sinner & Aryna Sabalenka will be determined to retain their titles.
Last week Jannik Sinner withdrew from the final of the Cincinnati Open due to injury which gifted the victory to Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner will be looking to win his third major tournament this year after triumphs at the Australian Open & Wimbledon.
World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz has been in impressive form this summer which included an epic victory at the French Open and an impressive win at the Queen’s Club in London. He will certainly be amongst the favourites to challenge in New York.
Sabalenka has not won a Grand Slam in 2025 and the world No.1 will want to make sure she does not end the season without a major crown.
Iga Swiatek will also be in a confident mood coming to New York. The Polish star won the Cincinnati Open last week in straight sets again Jasmin Paolini.
The first round of the US Open starts on Sunday 31st August.
