The final Grand Slam of the year has begun at Flushing Meadows in New York. Defending Men’s US Open Champion Carlos Alcaraz is retuning from months away from the court due to a wrist injury. The Spaniard was forced to miss the French Open & Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. He will hope his fitness has recovered sufficiently to retain his crown.
Wimbledon Champion and World No.1 Jannik Sinner has been forced to miss the tournament due a knee injury. Alexander Zverev has therefore been installed as the top seed.
Defending Ladies Champion Aryna Sabalenka will be favourite to retain her title as she bid to claim a third successive crown at Flushing Meadows.
