NEW 10-point tie-breaks trials this year – including Wimbledon

The Grand Slam tennis board has announced that ‘first-to-10’ tie-breaks will settle the final sets of major tournaments under a new trial. This means all Grand Slams will have to adhere to the rules including the French Open which starts in May and the Wimbledon Championships in the summer.

It appears that the rule will only apply to Grand Slams and will commence at Roland Garros in Paris. Previously, play would continue at 6-6 in the deciding set until one player secured a two-game lead.
