Word No.2 Jannik Sinner became the first man since Roger Federer to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’ by winning the Miami Open on Sunday.
The Italian beat Jiri Lehecka 6-4 6-4 in the final and in the process became the first man with win at Indian Wells & Miami without dropping a set. Sinner has now won 34 consecutive sets at ATP Master 1000 level.
The 温布尔登 Champion has been in relentless form in recent weeks and has closed the gap to Carlos Alcaraz at the top of the world rankings to 1,190 points.
Aryna Sabalenka also achieved the Sunshine Double in the ladies draw. The World No.1 beat hometown favourite Coco Gauff in the final 6-2 4-6 6-3. Sabalenka is only the fifth woman to win back-to-back tournaments at Indian Wells & Miami.
The tour now heads to the clay-court season which culminates with the French Open at Roland Garros at the end of May.
