2021 Wimbledon Championships Update (as of 16th June)

Juni 17, 2021 • 10 Min. Lesezeit

We are pleased to provide you with an update on The Championships following the decision from the UK Government to include Wimbledon as a pilot event in the ‘Events Research Programme’, which has allowed the attendance to be increased.

As agreed with the Government, The Championships 2021 will begin on Monday 28 June with 50% capacity across the Grounds. Stadium capacities for Centre Court and No.1 Court will open at 50% capacity, while the smaller Show Courts will be permitted to open at 75% capacity from Monday 28 June.

For the Fourth Round and Quarter-Finals, the aim is to increase Centre and No.1 Courts allocations, along with a number of Grounds Passes, and for the Semi-Finals and Finals, the aim is to have 100% capacity on Centre Court, with a small number of tickets on No.1 Court and Grounds Passes.

There are still some elements to finalise, but we are sure you will agree how positive this is for the enjoyment of The Championships this year.

Key Points for The Championships 2021?

  • There will be obligations for ticket-holders to provide Covid certification (either proof of vaccine status or a negative lateral flow test) to enter the Grounds. Please read below for more information on this.
  • You will be able to sit with any person on court outside of your family or support bubble, and in food and drink spaces, however some social distancing may be required in some areas.
  • Debenture holders will be situated in their usual seating areas, with no empty seats either side.
