22-time Grand Slam Champion Rafael Nadal has been included in the Spanish Davis Cup squad for their Final Eight contest in November.

The 38-year-old veteran has not played since his defeat to Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympics. Nadal was forced to withdraw from the US Open and the Laver Cup last weekend due to fitness concerns.

Nadal is scheduled to play alongside Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreno Busta, Roberto Bautista Agut, and Marcel Granollers.

The Davis Cup quarter finals will take place 19-21 November. Current World No.1 Jannik Sinner will be leading the defending champions Italy. The Italians are aiming to become the first country to defend the title since 2013.
