Raducanu ontvangt MBE op Windsor Castle

British tennis star Emma Raducanu has received an MBE for her services to tennis. The 20-year-old was catapulted to fame in 2021 when she claimed her first Grand Slam title at the US Open. She was the first ever qualifier to win the tournament and was the first British woman to win a major title since Virginia Wade in 1977.

Raducanu received the MBE gong at Windsor Castle from King Charles. It is a great achievement for the youngster who attended Newstead Wood School in Orpington, south-east London.

Raducanu has struggled with form and injuries since her US Open triumph and has slipped down the rankings from 10 to no 75 in the world. She has also had difficulties holding down a regular coach and is currently looking for her fifth coach in less than two years. She will be looking to appoint a permanent tutor for her 2023 campaign as she bids to improve on her rather disappointing output this season.
