Andy Murray Comes Through Gruelling Tiafoe Battle in Antwerp

Two-time Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray had to dig very deep to overcome Frances Tiafoe in an epic European Open first-round match. Murray lost the first set and had to save match point in the second before eventually claiming the victory 7-6 (7-2) 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (10-8) in a battle which lasted three hours 45 minutes.

There was a nice display of sportsmanship after the match as the pair shared a warm embrace and Murray then stopped his post-match interview to clap Tiafoe off the court. They both appreciated how gruelling the contest had been.

Next up for Murray is Argentine Diego Schwartzman on Thursday. Second seed Schwartzman will pose a stern text for the Brit who received a first-round bye.
