Andy Murray Handed Cincinnati Wildcard as he Ponders US Open

Former world No 1 Andy Murray has been awarded a wildcard for the Western & Southern open in Cincinnati as he considers his participation in the US Open later this month.

The Scott withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics with a thigh injury in July and is going to ‘wait and see’ on whether he will compete at Flushing Meadows. The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and after his relatively positive comeback at Wimbledon, Murray will be hoping to finish 2021 competing in two of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport.

The Western & Southern is likely to have all-star line-up with Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal all currently on the initial entry list.
