Barty & Zverev Claim Cincinnati Titles as Tennis Builds up to US Open

World No 1 Ashleigh Barty produced a dominant display in the final of the Cincinnati Open against Jil Teichmann winning 6-3 6-1. The Australian will be hoping to add the US Open to her Wimbledon crown when the Grand Slam starts next week.

In the men’s draw, German Alexander Zverev defeated Andrey Rublev in a polished performance which ended 6-2 6-3. The Olympic champion extended his unbeaten run to 11 matches and will be aiming to go one better at the final Grand Slam of the year in New York after losing the final to Dominic Thiem in 2020.

As we build up to the final Grand Slam of the year at Flushing Meadows the main focus will be on Novak Djokovic who is aiming to achieve a clean-sweep of major tournaments this year after already claiming the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon titles in 2021!
