British Teenage Star into Last 16 of US Open

Canada beat Australia in the final of the Davis Cup in Malaga to win the event for the first time in their history. They got off to a strong start as Denis Shapovalov beat Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets 6-2 6-4.

Emma Raducanu produced a dominant display against Sara Sorribes Tormo to secure a place in the last 16 at Flushing Meadows, defeating her Spanish opponent 6-0 6-1.

Making her first appearance at an overseas Grand Slam, Raducanu has had a remarkable tournament so far in New York and will play American Shelby Rogers for a place in the quarter finals. Rogers will likely pose a sterner test after she stunned World No 1 Ashleigh Barty in the previous round.

Raducanu burst onto the scene at Wimbledon earlier in the year when she reached the last 16 at SW19. She is quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst tennis enthusiasts and ex-players such as Tim Henman have been particularly excited by her impressive ball striking and precision hitting.
