‘Big Four’ to line up for Team Europe at Laver Cup

Canada beat Australia in the final of the Davis Cup in Malaga to win the event for the first time in their history. They got off to a strong start as Denis Shapovalov beat Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets 6-2 6-4.

After securing his seventh Wimbledon title earlier this month, Novak Djokovic has announced that he will join forces with Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer & Andy Murray at the Laver Cup in September.

The announcement means it will be first time the ‘Big Four’ have played together in a blockbuster line up. They have dominated men’s tennis for the past 20 years with a staggering 66 Grand Slam titles between them!

All four players are in the twilight years of their careers and fans will be hoping they are all fit enough to compete at the fifth edition of the event at the O2 Arena in London.

The tournament is tennis’ answer to The Ryder Cup and pitches Team Europe against Team World. The Europeans will be captained by Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe will be lead Team World.
