Boris Becker returns to tennis coaching

Former Wimbledon Champion Boris Becker has confirmed he is returning to tennis coaching after his recent stint in prison. The German star announced he has agreed to train Holger Rune who is currently the World No 6.

The 55-year-old said he was hoping to help Rune reach the ATP Tour Finals at the end of the year. Becker has previously trained World No 1 Novak Djokovic but was recently sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison due to financial issues. Since his release he has been able to resume his career as a pundit on Eurosport and will be looking forward to restarting his role as a coach.

Rune reached the quarter finals at Wimbledon in July but has not won a match since the Grand Slam. He has struggled with injuries but is hoping to have a strong end to 2023 under the guidance of Becker.
