Djokovic Sets up US Open QF Match with Berrettini in Wimbledon Final Rematch

World No 1 Novak Djokovic has had a rather tough ride so far at the 2021 US Open. The Wimbledon Champion was made to battle hard once again in the last 16 to beat American wildcard Jenson Brooksby in five sets. However, the Serb is now only three wins away from an historic 21st Grand Slam title, which would crown him the most successful men’s player of all time.

Standing in Djokovic’s way in the Quarter Finals is Italian Matteo Berrettini who he defeated in the final at the Wimbledon Championships in July. Berrettini will present another stern test for Djokovic after he claimed the first set against the Serb in the Wimbledon final before eventually losing in four sets.

If Djokovic manages to win the title at Flushing Meadows he would also become the first man in 52 years to achieve a career ‘Grand Slam’ by winning all four major tournaments in a calendar year.
