Queen’s Club Championships gets Grass Court season up and running

The 2022 Cinch Championships at Queen’s Club begins this week as the grass court season gets underway in west London. The annual event is one of the most popular on the ATP Tour and was first established in 1889.

Former World No 1 Andy Murray currently holds the record for the most victories at The Queen’s Cub with six titles (5 x single & 1 x double). However, the two-time Wimbledon Champion may have to miss this year’s edition after he struggled with injury in the final of the Stuttgart Open against Matteo Berrenttini. Murray was beaten by the Italian 4-6 7-5 3-6 and had to receive treatment from the physio twice during the third set. He will be hoping he will be fit to play at the Wimbledon Championships which start on 27th June.

Other previous winners of the Queen’s Championships include John McEnroe, Rafael Nadal & Andy Roddick.
