Raducanu back to winning ways in Abu Dhabi

Former US-Open Champion Emma Raducanu beat Marie Bouzkova in straights at the Abu Dhabi Open on Monday to set up a last-16 tie with Ons Jabeur.

It was Raducanu’s first match since being knocked out of the Australian Open last month. She will be pleased with her performance after she dispatched of her Czech opponent in just 82 minutes 6-4 6-1.

A victory over Jadeur will be Raducanu’s first win against a player ranked inside the top 10 this season. It will also be the first time she has reached the quarter-finals of a tournament this year.

The 21-year-old is looking to rebuild her career after suffering numerous injury setbacks since her 2021 US Open triumph. Surgery meant she missed the Wimbledon Championships last summer and the 21-year-old will be hoping to make progress in her upcoming tournaments ahead of the grass court season.
