Raducanu blitzes former World No.1 Kerber in Stuttgart

Emma Raducanu continued her impressive clay court form on Tuesday by beating former World No.1 Angelique Kerber in straight sets in Stuttgart. The 2021 US Open Champion dominated the match from the outset and dismantled the home favourite 6-2 6-1 at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

Raducanu is continuing her comeback from double wrist surgery. Her absence from the court has knocked her down to 303rd in the world rankings. However, she will be encouraged by her recent form as she fights back to full fitness.

The 21-year-old will play Linda Noskova of Czech Republic in the next round.

Her win over Kerber was her third victory in a week. The 21-year-old won both her matches at the Billie Jean King Cup at the weekend as Britian beat France.

The former British No.1 is aiming to play a full summer schedule of tennis in 2024, including the Wimbledon Championships. She was forced to miss The Championships last year due to injury.
