UK television giant Sky have launched a new dedicated tennis channel which will broadcast over 4,000 matches throughout the year. Sky Sports Tennis will show matches from more than 80 tournaments, which include the final Grand Slam of the year at the US Open.
The channel launched on 11th February and will be accessible on the Sky Sports platform, including the multiple streaming options. Presenters will include former British No.1 Tim Henman, Laura Robson & Jonathan Overend.
During the first week of programming viewers will be able to enjoy coverage from the Hologic WTA tournament in Doha. Some of the world’s top players are included in the field including, Coco Gauff & Iga Swiatek.
The new channel is also screening a new and exciting documentary entitled Young Guns: The New Tennis Titans. The programme documents the emergence of some of the sport’s rising stars, such as Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Sky Sports Tennis will give the sport more exposure and should only enhance the coverage of tennis.
