Tributes pour in for tennis legend Nick Bollettieri

Legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri has sadly passed away at the age of 91. Bollettieri was the son of Itilian immigrants and grew up in America and even served in the US army. However, it was his love of tennis where he found his passion. He was a larger-than-life character who later established his own famed Florida tennis academy.

Bollettieri’s incredible caching career included mentoring 10 world No 1 tennis players. The stella list of names on his resume include, Andre Agassi, Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova. In 2014 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

He founded the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in 1978 which served as the foundation of the IMG Academy. The IMG Academy is a private boarding school which considers itself as the world’s leading tennis education organisation. Bollettieri instilled intense physical training regimes and dedication to the sport of tennis which ultimately produced some of the greatest players of all time.

Many people in the tennis world have released glowing tributes to the late coach, including players and influential individuals.

Bollettieri passed away at his home in Florida after suffering some recent health issues.
