Zverev sets up Djokovic semi-final at ATP Finals

Alexander Zverev produced a crushing display against Hubert Hurkacz on Thursday 6-2 6-4 to secure a place in the semi-final of the ATP Finals in Turin. The German had to beat Hurkacz to progress out of his group after losing to US Open Champion Daniil Medvedev and played an aggressive match to prevail victorious.

Zverev will now face World No 1 Novak Djokovic for place in the final, which is rematch of their Olympic Games semi-final match in the summer. Djokovic will be looking for revenge after Zverev beat him in Tokyo to distinguish his hopes of a ‘Golden Slam’.

Wimbledon Champion Djokovic, who is currently unbeaten in the competition, has already secured semi-final qualification with one match still left to play in the group stage. He will play Britain’s Cameron Norrie on Friday after he was brought into the competition following an injury sustained by Stefanos Tsitsipas.
