The men’s 2021 Australian Open final will be contested between two of the most in-form players in world tennis. Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev will battle it out in Sunday’s final to claim the year’s first grand slam. Medvedev beat Rafa Nadal’s conqueror Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-final and will be full of confidence after claiming the ATP Final tournament in December. He will certainly have his work cut out against World No 1 Djokovic but it sets up a cracking final.
Naomi Osaka defeated Serena Williams to book her place in the woman’s final and will face American Jennifer Brady. It will be Brady’s first grand slam final and will be looking to avenge the defeat she suffered to Osaka in the US Open semi-finals last year. The final takes place on Saturday at the Rod Laver Arena.
Both winners of the men’s & woman’s tournaments will pocket £1.5m, which is 31% down on last year’s price money.
