Champions Down Under!

Congratulations to Novak Djokovic & Naomi Osaka after being crowned Australian Open champions 2021. Both players proved they are the world’s best at the moment after dominating both finals in their respective matches.

Osaka has signalled her intent to win grand slams on multiple surfaces and attention will undoubtedly be focused on the clay of Roland Garros and the grass of Wimbledon later this year. For Djokovic, who already has 18 slam titles across all surfaces, he will have his eye on eclipsing the all-time record of Grand Slam titles currently held by Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer with 20.

Due to the pandemic players were required to quarantine before the tournament and crowds were reduced to satisfy social distancing rules. Despite a minor scare, generally the event will be regarded a success and could form a blueprint moving forward. We are now hopefully looking forward to more crowds returning to major events in 2021.
