Djokovic makes winning return to the court as Cam Norrie pushes for ATP Finals place

Wimbledon Champion Novak Djokovic beat Hungarian Marton Fucovics at the Paris Masters in his first appearance since his heart-breaking defeat in the final of the US Open in September. World No 1 Djokovic was aiming for a calendar Grand Slam in New York when he was denied by Russia’s Daniil Medvedev. The Serb great was made to work hard for his victory against Fucovics before eventually winning the match 6-2 4-6 6-3. He will now play Gael Monfils or Adrian Mannarino in the next round. Djokovic is aiming to finish the year as World No 1 for a record seventh time.

Meanwhile, British No 1 Cameron Norrie is hoping to continue his recent impressive form and secure a place at the prestigious ATP Finals event. Norrie is currently seeded 10th but must beat American Reilly Opelka in his match to keep his chances alive.
