Dominic Thiem Beats Home Favourite Kyrgios as Norrie Sets up Nadal Clash

Canada beat Australia in the final of the Davis Cup in Malaga to win the event for the first time in their history. They got off to a strong start as Denis Shapovalov beat Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets 6-2 6-4.

US Open champion Dominic Thiem came back from a set down to beat Nick Kyrgios in a five set classic to advance into the fourth round of the Australian Open. Meanwhile British number 3 Cameron Norrie will face Spanish great Rafa Nadal tomorrow to see if he can pull off a huge shock and advance into the second week of the Grand Slam.

In the women’s draw, veteran Serena Williams came through a slow start to beat Anastasia Potapova. Unfortunately Britain’s Heather Watson was beaten in a three set battle by Anett Kontaveit which ended British interest in the women’s singles tournament.
