End of Year Tennis Singles Rankings

As the curtain comes down on 2020 the world’s best players will be taking stock of their current ATP rankings and looking forward to an exciting 2021.

The men’s top 5 is certainly going to be competitive next year with the persistence of Dominic Thiem & Daniil Medvedev threatening to overturn the dominance of the ‘Big 3’. For now it is another end of year top spot for Novak Djokovic in front of Rafael Nadal in second spot;

  • Novak Djokovic
  • Rafael Nadal
  • Dominic Thiem
  • Daniil Medvedev
  • Roger Federer

In the women’s rankings Ashleigh Barty retained top spot despite missing the last two grand slams of 2020. She will therefore enter the first Grand Slam of the year in 2021, the Australian Open, her home tournament as World No 1. Simona Halep, second in the rankings, will be hoping she can push on next year after recovering from Coronavirus in November. US Open champion Naomi Osaka makes up the top three who will undoubtably be aiming for more big victories next year;

  • Ashleigh Barty
  • Simona Halep
  • Naomi Osaka
  • Sofia Kenin
  • Elina Svitolina
