This weekend Novak Djokovic claimed his 23rd Grand Slam at the French Open and moved ahead of Rafael Nadal in the race for all-time major title victories. The Serb beat Casper Ruud 7-6 6-3 7-5 in the final at Roland Garros and in doing so also reclaimed the World No.1 spot from Carlos Alcaraz.
The 36-year-old will now be legitimately recognised as the greatest of all time (GOAT). He is also the first player to win each Grand Slam more than three times.
The Serb will be hopeful of adding to his major haul at the Wimbledon Championships next month where he can move event further ahead of Nadal & Roger Federer.
Djokovic has now won both Grand Slams so far in 2023 after also winning the Australian Open in January. He will be a firm favourite to retain his Wimbledon crown on the grass of SW19 and in doing so will have the opportunity to win a career Grand Slam of major victories.
