World No.1 Iga Swiatek continued her ominous form at Roland Garros by dismantling American Coco Gauff to reach the French Open final. Swiatek has been in great form in Paris and produced another dominant display against the third seed to win the semi-final match 6-2 6-4.
When the new rankings are released on Monday Coco Gauff will be installed at the World No.2. The US Open was hoping to add the clay court title to the Grand Slam she won in New York, however Swiatek proved too strong once again.
Swiatek will meet Italian 12th seed Jasmine Paolini who ended Russian Mirra Andreeva’s fairytale run at Roland Garros. Paolini beat the 17-year-old 6-3 6-1 to reach the final and will do her best to derail the World No.1 in Saturday’s finale.
